1. Play a game!
OUTSIDE….not on the television!!! Tag, Red Light-Green Light, chasing your sister ... ok, not that ... but, almost anything will do…just get moving!
7. Make it a Family Affair!
Ask your mom or dad to go with you ... they will help to motivate and enjoy time with you!
2. Start Walking!
Lots of kids (and adults) get turned off running by overdoing it. Try walking first ... then, slowly introduce running.
8. Get the look!
Nothing makes a sport more fun than having the right outfit!
3. Find a buddy!
Friend, Dog, Martian ... As long as you can keep talking to your buddy during your run/walk… your pace is good!
9. Wear the right shoes!
Nothing stops a runner in their tracks like sore feet. Get fitted for proper shoes at a running store like Running Fit!
4. Go Team!!!
No need to go to Beijing, you have Olympic events in your own town! Go to a Track Meet at the Local High School ... Student Athletes Rock!!
10. Start a School Running Club!
Ask your favorite teacher or principal to help you get started!
5. Sign up for a Fun Run!
Being PART of the race is exciting! Have your parents help you find a local race!
6. Cut out the sugar!
Sweets and Soda Pop taste great, but leave you feeling like a big slug!
